Abstract

Chad Atlantic presents the A-55 “Vulture” in response to the U.S. military’s recent request for affordable light-attack aircraft with short-deployment, ground-support, and dogfighting capabilities. Boasting a 1740-foot takeoff distance and a range of nearly 750 nautical miles with over 3000 pounds of integrated and external armament, the “Vulture” meets and exceeds all mission requirements at a projected cost of $21.7M per unit — approximately $5M less than the A-29, which currently occupies a similar niche.
