EML4501 engineers worked in teams to complete on-paper designs for a Lunar Reconnaissance 12U CubeSat Canisterized Satellite Dispenser requested by our customer, NASA’s Small Spacecraft Technology Program. This new product must be designed with the following key elements and capabilities: 1) launches 12U CubeSat into lunar orbit; 2) impart in initial satellite dispensing velocity of up to 2 m/s relative to the spacecraft; and 3) provide power, communications, thermal regulation, and contamination protection to the CubeSat until launch.
