EML4502 Capstone senior Design Presentations:
December 5th – 9th
EML4502 students for the Fall 2022 semester are continuing the development of the autonomous microbioreactor initially designed by previous EML4501 and EML4502 semesters. It is the goal for each of the 15 teams (consisting of 7-8 randomly divided students) to advance the technological readiness level of the shaker table mechanism from the current state of TRL1-2 to TRL3-4. Each fully operational shaker plate should be capable of accommodating and securing various sizes of well plates and conical tube racks while performing predefined sets of rotational patterns up to 350rpm. Additionally, finalized designs must at minimum comply with BSL-2 laboratory standards, but they must also be able to survive harsh environments created inside the microbioreactor.
